I'll give you an example, we can see in the case of a salesman. Salesman sometimes burdened with sales targets and want to get the commission and good promotion, so that they are busy thinking of themselves in dealing with potential customers. They forget what is really desired by prospective purchasers. I often see that the seller tends to force himself for closing a sale and not listening to the prospective buyer.

To be a successful marketer, you should listen to consumers first, understand their desires, then offer solutions to prospective customers.

The second example of application of empathy is you should not focus only on encouraging or forcing people to buy your product at all times. Your job as a salesman is to present a product with a clear, intelligent, honest and full of integrity manner.

You have to explain the advantages and benefits which they will get if they buy it. You will easily present the solution of your product if you have empathy and listen to complaints or desires of the prospective buyer before.

The point is that you must establish communication with your customers and prospects. You can ask questions and listen to their answer emphatically.

This skill is closely related to empathy. Through good communication links, proximity to your consumer can be preserved for long periods of time. This makes them loyal to your product. If they are loyal, they will attract their friends and relatives to try and buy your product.

These communication skills can be trained and you have to practice again and again until you can easily present your ideas to the listener. If another person understand the ideas what you convey, it means you successfully deliver an information to them. You must ask for feedback to them by asking, "Do you understand my point?"

You also need to comprehend the information conveyed by the other person. If you do not understand the point, do not hesitate to ask them. If you misinterpret the information, it can be fatal. You should make sure by asking, "Is my understanding correct?” , “Is it according to your objective?".

3. Innovative in creating added value

You can exercise, how to become a creative person. One of the technique is to think "out of the box". The point is trying to think outside the majority of people who have the same thoughts. It could start by changing the mindset. For example: You work at a footwear manufacturing company. If you were told by the director to perform survey to a specific area, you find they all travel without wearing footwear.
