The subject is SEO steps and process that must be done, so your business will be found on search engine (such as Google, Bing, etc.). By conducting SEO, your business will be discovered without paying (your business will be found on search engine at organic search result).
As a small business owner and beginners, you have to learn SEO basics and perform the SEO steps and understand the SEO process.
1. Keyword research.
It means discovering what words (phrases) people/prospective customers use to search for your product or service.
2. Once you know the phrases, then improving the content on your site.
3. Refine your keywords over time.
Why? Because there are many changes in customer behavior, customer want, customer need. As a consequences, the phrases that people will search will change.
Then creating and sharing the content they are searching.
The keyword research essence is you should match your content to what people are actually looking for.
- The number of times a word is searched for. In other words, how many people are searching for that keyword or phrases.
- For Beginners or small business owner who start conducting search engine marketing via organic search, you must choose for the keywords that have a bit less competition.
You can see the number in keyword analysis tool, such as Keyword Planner by Google.
- Be relevant
The keyword you select should closely match what you actually offer. then this keyword match the intent of the people who are searching.
The work of SEO is never done, because:
- Trends come and go.
- User can change their behavior, so does the keyword or phrases they use.
- Search engine evolve over time.
So, you have to stay update on SEO things by:
- Learning how search engine work.
- Keeping an eye on changes.
- Monitoring the new algorithm how they affect your website.
- Talking to the visitor/user/customer to gain any feedback, like what content is missing, features are needed, product they are looking for, etc.
1. Set a clear goals.
A different goal has a different strategy.
The goal example:
- Increase the visitor.
- Increase the visitor engagement, such as: commenting, liking, sharing, browsing more than two pages, etc.
- Subscribe your newsletter.
- Close the sale.
2. Measure the progress.
If you have a clear goal, it is easy to make KPI (key performance indicator). If you have a clear KPI, it will be easy to monitor the progress,
