We can imagine that display advertising is digital version of billboard or TV ad that you see offline. But in the digital world of display advertising, ad space isn't on billboard or TV channels but on the website we visit.

* Advertiser pays for their ads to appear when the appropriate person is on the website that display his ads.

* Advertiser can make deal directly with the website owner to display his ads.

* Advertiser can use ads network that match his business with many different websites that offer ad space to sell.

Suppose you have chosen your target market, so you can increase the conversion by investigating where they might be looking at online, for examples blog, official website, forum, channels, etc. The conclusion is the pages where your target market are, you should be there to display your ads.

In the digital world, you can target people based on their specific interest also. Therefore, when they are browsing elsewhere , you can still get your ads in front of them. So, display advertising has the system that make the advertisers reach relevant audiences all across the internet.

The differences of search engine marketing and display advertising


Search ads

* Targeting the people who know what they want and actively looking for they want on the search engine.

* Advertisers bid for their ads to show up on the search engine result.

* The search ads are usually made up of text (contains headline, descriptive text, address or phone number, and a link you can click).

Display advertising

* Targeting the people who have showed specific interest through the website they have visited (people online behaviors).

* Targeting the website where your potential customers are likely to be spending time, so advertisers bid for their ads to show up on those websites.

* Display ads are created more than text, like images, videos, and more.
