- The ultimate point in Facebook ads is defining the audience you want to reach.

- The thing must be concerned when you define the audience : reach people who are likely to be interested in what you're offering.

- The key of effective advertising is : not advertising to people who probably aren't interested in your offering.

- The thing you must do in order to reach the right people -> notice a section called Audience, then you can define the audience here.

- Overview the audience section:

a. Gender : you can choose to only men or women, or reach out both of them.

You can pick the right one based on your business market. For example: your product is beard grooming and shaving, so you can choose only men.


b. Age : You can reach people by age group, from age 13 up to 65 plus.


c. Location: You can reach people by global region, country, city, or postcode.


d. Demographics, interests, and behaviors.

For example:

- you can reach people who have specific interests like people like to cook, gardening, reading, etc.

- you can reach people based on their device usage, their purchases, and other behaviors.


Summary : defining audience is an important step in creating Facebook ads.

The way to create the audience


The basic way how to create an audience in Facebook ads ->  Observe your current customer data.

Learn more about your current customer. Find out their interest, their demographics, etc.

Based on this data, you can incorporate the information, you can create new audience on Facebook ads with similar interests.

Let me recap, Audiences can be set based on gender, age, location, interest, demographics, behaviors, and other characteristics.

Best practices how to built an audience


a. Consider your current customer base.

b. Observe what they like, how old are they, and what the interests they have.

c. If you've already noticed what their interests, find interests related to it.

d. If you are newcomers and don't have customers yet, try to built broad audience. 

This approach may help you find potential customers you never would have thought. But you must be aware that a large budget may be required.

e. Test and iterate your audiences. 

Adjust and try again as needed. And you should save your audience for later use.
