As I have informed you in former articles, marketing knowledge and it’s implementation is evolving. Marketing science is growing as a consequence of the environment progress, such as consumer’s behavior, technology, and others.

If you want to get a better opportunity in your marketing career, you must improve your marketing knowledge and if you a beginner in marketing, I will inform you list of marketing subject that you have to learn to make your life better.

Why updating your marketing knowledge can help you and your business better? By updating your marketing knowledge, you will have marketing skills. Both skills marketing soft skill and hard skill are important. Through learning and implementing these skills, you have a better chance to grow. You will be known as marketing expert, you will have a good personal branding, and your life will be changed. One of standards that make people live in the good condition is changing and growing. The conclusion is, mastering marketing knowledge can help you get a higher and better chance to grow and this makes you live a better life than before.

So, I will continue on marketing knowledge and science subjects. I will list marketing knowledge that you have to learn and master. I do not put those in order, but I will write based on the things I remember first, then other subject, step by step.

Here are marketing knowledge you have to learn and master

1. Marketing Information system

There are a lot of data which are gathered from anywhere. The decision maker need appropriate data only, not all of the data they get. After getting the data, there must be some technology, procedure or tools, so that people can process and analyze the data to become helpful information. And finally, they can decide some strategic decision based on this information.

2. Social media marketing

This marketing method has been growing since social network apps has a significant growth. This marketing method use a social media network apps for the marketing channel. Marketer utilize social media as a marketing and communication media.

3. Marketing analytics

This subject is closely related to subject number one. As you have already known that marketing decision is based on data. It is called data-driven decision.  So you must know the basics of analytics.

4. Mobile marketing

This subject is the same spirit of digital marketing. Mobile marketing is subset of digital marketing.

Everyone has a mobile device in their pocket. This is a new  channel of marketing which you should consider to learn and implement.

As a marketer, you must do a marketing performance measurement and manage it then give some report to decision maker.

With this knowledge, you will learn and can implement to set the right metrics for interpreting marketing performance result.

Beside marketing knowledge above, there are many knowledge and skills that you have to master, for examples: email marketing , digital marketing , business to business marketing (b2b), marketing knowledge management, marketing software or marketing tools, search engine marketing , and so on.

The essence is, if you master some of the marketing knowledge above and you focus on it, you will become an expert.  Afterwards your life becomes better.
